A BILL to amend article seven, chapter twenty of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated
section four-c, relating to allowing conservation officers
to work overtime in the national forests and parks as
patrol officers pursuant to a contract with the appropriate
federal authority.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That article seven, chapter twenty of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section
four-c, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 7. LAW ENFORCEMENT, MOTORBOATING, LITTER.
§20-7-4c. Authorization to work overtime as conservation or 

patrol officers in national forests or parks.
Conservation officers subject to the provisions of this
article are authorized to work under the authority of the
national park service or other appropriate federal authority as
conservation or patrol officers in national parks and forests:
Provided, That no conservation officer may perform services
pursuant to the authority granted in this section which in any
way interferes or detracts from his or her regular or designated
work hours, schedule and duties as a conservation officer
subject to the provisions of this article.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to allow conservation
officers employed by the state to work in national forests and
parks under federal authority in their spare time.
